In the evening of November 15, 2005, WFCC; together with all materials to held up the construction of Biklee Marine Wildlife Checkpoint arrived its destination at the Fresh Water Fish Protection and Subjugation Center at 4 pm. Mr. Prasert Maksap, the chief in command, and his staffs were waiting to give a warm welcome and help unloading materials.
After an hour of unloading and relocating all materials to the new working site beside the reservoir, the craned truck; supported by Mr. Manoach Chaorainak, started back to its way. WFCC staffs, together with Khao Laem staffs then headed to the main office. Mr. Chitti Sawatsai, the head of Maharaja Wildlife Protection station of Thungyai Naresuan arrived in time to handover some additional tools and materials from Thungyai which WFCC had coordinated via radio for transportation.
During the warm welcome party prepared by the head of Fresh Water Fish Protection and Subjugation Center and Khao Laem staffs that night; WFCC informed all process of the construction and the period of time which takes approximately 10 days to complete. The project foreman is Mr. Teodsak Pattarawani, follow by technicians who have experience in Ongtung - Huaykue Marine Wildlife Checkpoint construction in 2003 at Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary. Structural designed by architect and the chairman of WFCC, Mr. Tewet Uttawichai. The pontoon combined of 25 oil tanks covered by rasting paint. Floor applied by viva boards, Mega boards were used as walls, 1 toilet will be constructed at the back of the building. Steel structure covered by metal sheets which are used as roof. Corridor floor applied by 60 cm wide planks. Upon the roof 50 watt solar cell will be installed with its accessories, a 200 watt transformer, and a set of radio communication antenna.
In the next morning after breakfast, WFCC left to the new working site at the fourth marine wildlife protection station of Khao Laem Dam in order to start the construction. WFCC found Mr. Jon, the head of Huay Ka - yeng, who had discussed with a staff of the Protection Center. With the cooperative devotion working atmosphere of the two associations (Forest Department & Fishery Department) toward the Biklee project, WFCC staffs were empowered to be more and more enthusiastic on work.
Refer to Mr. Prasert’s discussion about earning the best utility by sharing the marine wildlife checkpoint and participate the conservation work with Khao Laem National Park, this idea clearly shows his open vision and dedication toward conservation work which can leads to its consistency in the future.
After Mr. Cha, technician and the representative paid respect to divinity, the second stage of Biklee Marine Wildlife Checkpoint Construction has begun. Mr. Lek and Mr. Pun responsible on electric welding, Mr. Kai covered pontoon by rasting paint, while Mr. Aun, Mr. Cha, and Mr. Kai help carrying each pontoon down to the water and assembled them together by following its marked.
The dream of seeing the completed building is nearly become true. The marine wildlife checkpoint shall protect the last breeding resource of Khao Laem Water lives and wildlife as its objective by truly dedication from all participants. In the next 10 days, the marine wildlife checkpoint will be towed to its location to perform its great task for Khao Laem reservoir.
