During the weekend of November 19 - 20, 2005, WFCC members and volunteers follow up and participated the construction project of Biklee Marine Wildlife Checkpoint construction at the fourth Marine Wildlife Checkpoint (Huay Kha - Yeng), Khao Laem National Park. To rush up the project to completion, Mr. Tawet Utawichai; together with technicians Mr. Tanabadi Urarak (Keng) and Mr. Thaweesak Nakpoon (Peud), had a discussion for its progress. In the next morning of November 20, 2005, Mr. Pom, the fishery officer, came to the side visiting the on - going project and provided some useful information of how the marine wildlife checkpoint will be in the rainy storm at Biklee. Mr. Pom was previously a passenger boat driver who deserved all acknowledge and experience toward the marine route Sangkhlaburi – Kanchanaburi. He informed that, in the past , traveling by boat we may need 1 and a half day to travel against the current stream from Kanchanaburi to Sangklaburi while we may take only 1 day along down the current stream to Kanchanaburi. Mr. Pom has now become an important and acknowledged fishery officer of the fishery center.
After project survey and discussion, Mr. Tawet Uttawichai started revising the design for more utility area around the building and for more consistency against rainstorm during fish breeding season. Following the new design, permanent side walls were change to be canvas and pulleys. Polymer canopy will be installed in the front of the building. Under the ceiling inside placed a mattress shelf, and a steel cabinet stands for equipments tools and other accessories. The left and right porch installed with handrail, fencing the cooking area and toilet. Toilet door was also changed to be swing panel for more convenience and attractive.
Supported by all supporters and the truly devotion of officers from the Fresh Water Fish Protection and Subjugation Center in subdivision of Vachiralongkorn Dam, the construction is continuously grown continuously in faster. The final stage next weekend, solar cell and communication system will be included for completion to be another effective floating wildlife and water life checkpoint.
