November 5, 2005 WFCCC performed the handover of Maharaja wildlife exhibition hall to Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary at Maharaja wildlife protection station. Mr. Urb Choeng - Sa - Ard, chief in command of Thungyai, presided over the ceremony and accompanied by the assistants to the chief, Mr. Montri Khaengketkarn, Mr.Surachet Wandeeruangpaisarn, and Mr.Sakhorn Suebsai.
The wildlife exhibition hall was constructed in 2003 when Mr.Paiboon Sawetmalanon was in charge of Thungyai. It was originally intended to use as rangers’ cooperative shop. However, its utility was then changed to be an exhibition hall when WFCC undertook the construction as one of the three projects; on the occasion of 30th anniversary of Thungyai Naresuan. Materials were continuously transported to its work site until the construction begun and positively completed on October 2005 by the cooperative of Mr. Chitti Sawatsai and Maharaja officers.
The wildlife exhibition hall is used to display academic information and research made and recorded by both researchers and Thungyai officers. Purposely, ecological information of Thungyai Naresuan displayed in the exhibition hall will urge nature awareness of visitors to give their hand toward conservation.
To empower Thungyai officers; especially on field operation of patrol and research. On this opportunity, WFCC supported Thungyai 750 kilograms of rice, 4 sets of handheld radio transceiver, 30 batteries (100 amp), 2 cookingl gas (15 kg. each), medical supplies, foodstuffs, etc. Moreover, solar house installation process for Maharaja has been undertaken.
