November 3, 2005 WFCC delivered 3 sacks of rice and some preserved can food and fresh food to Mr. Oran's house at upper Klitee village as to support necessity in need. Mr. Oran is a ranger of Maharaja wildlife protection station who just got a new baby, he is the only one who responsible for the whole family which consist of 7 lives. With limited income of the low wage he is now in the economic crisis and have no money to buy food for the family. Two weeks ago Mr. Oran went on his feet over 100 kilometers through the mountainous track from his house to Maharaja wildlife protection station carried 40 kilograms of food on his shoulder back to his house for his family's members to eat.
This is not a novel but a real rangers life. Mr. Oran's story, the ranger of Maharaja is just only another real rangers' life out of about 40,000 rangers throughout the whole country who are at their duty protecting nature and wildlife in various forest throughout the kingdom of Thailand. Mr.Phillips Derown, an English bird survey who are well known among Thai people for years had urged for better quality of rangers life from the government in many places. WFCC is also see the same light and set up support rangers project to render and provide necessity support which WFCC has practically practice in the past decade. Though WFCC support is effective for the approaching problem in a short term problem solving basis which only help in promoting rangers' working moral, the government plan to shift up quality of rangers life by raising up wages may help solve the problem in the long run.
