Shrine Construction of King Naresuan the great
at Maharaja station,Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary
to mark 400 year memorial of the Great Black King

Inaugural stay ceremony
November 5, 2005

 

                 It was Saturday November 5, 2005 at Maharaja Wildlife Station. The Chief in Command of Thungyai Naresuan Mr. Erb Cheongsa-ard; in conjunction with his assistants Mr. Anan Sriphudphong, Mr. Montree Khaengkhetkarn, Mr. Pairat Sunhua, Mr. Surachet Wandeeruangpaisal, Mr.Sakhorn Seubsai, followed by Thungyai officers, WFCC staffs, and outsiders participated the ceremony of inviting the spirit of King Naresuan Maharaja to reside at the shrine of Thungyai Naresuan, on the opportunity of 400 years passed away of the great king. Purposely, the commemorative shrine will encourage Thungyai officers on guarding the forest, and remind of King Naresuan’s great virtue on redeeming Thungyai Naresuan Forest and the kingdom of Thailand to be retained as our residence until now.

                 Only after Mr. Erb arrived to the area, the ceremony was begun by its master – Mr. Hram Thongdonnoi who was also officiated at the Hermit shrine in the year 2001. In front of pavilion, Mr. Erb paid homage to king Naresuan statue. Then, the parade was formed to invite the statue uphill, headed to where the shrine was installed. Leaded by national flag which was carried by Mr. Amnard Funfuer, a Thungyai officer, and a gong carried by WFCC staffs; the parade moved circumambulatory for 3 rounds before the statue was leaded up to pedestal. Mr. Erb paid homage, and Mr. Anuwat Jaisue; WFCC staff, read out the doctrine.

Doctrine of inviting ceremony King Naresuan Maharaja to reside at Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary; Saturday November 5, 2005

                 “On the opportunity of 4 centuries passed away of the great king Naresuan Maharaja, WFCC in conjunction with Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary has initiated the shrine of king Naresuan, and perform this ceremony purposely to invite the spirit of king Naresuan to reside encouraging forest officers and people around the area, also to commemorate his royal kindness of redeeming the kingdom of Thailand to be exist until nowadays. Descendant who born and live in the Kingdom of Thailand shall realize his virtue now and forever.”

                 After the declaration, Mr. Tewet Uttawichai; WFCC chairman, worshiped the Three Gems Buddha. The assistant chief of Thungyai Naresuan, Mr. Anan Sriphudphong, Mr. Surachet Wandeeruangpaisal, Mr. Montree Khaengkhetkarn, Mr. Pairat Sunhua, and Mr, Sakhorn Seubsai worshiped gods and other spirits. Then, Mr. Hram Thongdonnoi commenced the Brahman inviting ceremony.

                 After the holy ceremony, Mr. Hram Thongdonnoi blessed all the participants and gave them small Buddha images as souvenir. WFCC also took this chance to distribute copper coin images of the king Naresuan to all participants.


                 The Shrine of King Naresuan Maharaja at Maharaja Wildlife Protection Station in Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary will not be positively completed without true participations by all faiths and dedications of Mr. Urb Choeng Sa Ard together with Thungyai officers, WFCC members and volunteers, Mr. Kittipong Suriyathongchuen and Weing Fang sculptural group, and other supporters who realize his royal kindness to Thai citizen and the kingdom of Thailand; and bring their hands onto the project until it has been appreciatively completed.
