In the early morning of March 2, 2006, the day before the handover date of Radio Network Communication System Construction Project and Solar Cell System Construction Project and the Central Radio Communication Station Construction at Thungyai Naresuan WS, WFCC members and volunteers together with Thungyai officers installed a National Flag Pole for Sesawo Wildlife Unit. The construction began since the end of last year 2005, initialed by Mr. Jitti Sawatsai the Head of Maharaja wildlife protection station. Accordingly, WFCC had transported construction materials in succession to its worksite, and proceed along with the project of the Central Radio Network Station Construction at Hermit Hill. The construction was under cooperation with Sesawo and maharaja Wildlife protection station's officers. The construction and installation was finally completed, Thai national anthem was first sung by the time as the national flag was first raised above Sesawo wildlife protection station in the morning of March 2, 2006.
The important of Sesawo Wildlife Unit is not only the historical site of Thungyai Naresuan WS, also its geography as a part of Thailand largest grass field forest which contains several significant and vanishing species of flora and fauna. Moreover, some particular species was recently discovered here during ecological site surveys by researchers and explorers. For travelers and passengers, the area is like a desert that causes Sesawo Wildlife Unit bear a great burden of receiving them who some are villagers inhabit around Thai-Burmese border. To have Thai national flag here is also to signify Thailand’s sovereignty.
