Meeting of West Thungyai Protected Area Committee

                       On May 24, 2006 the Office of West Thungyai Natrsuan Wildlife Sanctuary assembled the first meeting of West Thungyai Protected Area Committee at meeting room of Sangkhaburi Public Health District Office. There were altogether 23 attendees from local officers, educational section, mass media, religion representatives, private sections, etc. (List of West Thungyai PAC Committee)

                        The meeting began at about 10 am. Mr. Erb Cheongsa-ard welcomed all attendees and then briefed about general condition of west Thungyai Naresuan wildlife sanctuary, including site management  policy. Then, he continued briefing about working procedure of JoMPA (Joint Management of Protected Areas) with slide multi-vision prepared and presented by Mr. Pongpan Unghem-anan, assistant chief in command of west Thungyai. After that, Mr. Erb reported the initiation of PAC committee which was by the result of a policy of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to form a committee to take authorization as west Thungyai's consultant toward any issues and any activities to be taken.  (Task and Authority of West Thungyai PAC Committee)

                     The meeting continued through its sessions until the time for PAC chairman selection. In conclusion, the committee agreed Mr. Jakrit Sangphum to be the chairman of PAC, assisted by Mr. Maitree Setaphunt. The secretary of PAC will be in charge of Mr. Erb, the chief of Thungyai following the regulation. And, Mr. Montree Khaengkhetkarn; assistant chief of west Thungyai, would take responsibility on cooperative task along the 2 years term.

                       After all executive  leader were fitted into each position, the PAC secretary then proposed 6 projects activities with all details of each resources, objectives, total expenditure, and procedure provided for PAC committee's consideration. After discussion, the total 6 projects presented were approved. (List of projects approved by West Thungyai PAC Committee)

                        After the meeting completed at 1 pm., all the committee took photos together in front of Sangkhaburi District Office of Public Health. Then, Mr. Erb and his assistants, on behalf on west Thungyai Naresuan WS, invited all attendees to have lunch together provided at conference room of the office of Sangkhaburi District which stated at the opposite site before separated.
