According to last month collision between poachers and Thungyai rangers during wildlife survey mission; June 9, 2006, WFCC donated altogether 6 handheld FM radio transceivers together with 6 cartons of instant noodle with some other dry food to patrolmen of Maharaja wildlife station. Including the additional 6 radio transceivers, the red zone ,that is currently under threat of poachers, of west Thungyai Naresuan WS. now has altogether 10 radios in use. WFCC has continuously working out for the handheld FM radio transceiver support project, and, up to now, WFCC had already donated altogether more than 42 radios transceiver units to Thungyai wildlife sanctury. However, it is still inadequate, compared to the site's dimension, the total number of rangers and, especially, to its criticized crisis as referred. Particularly, WFCC project of rangers food support has the same objective as of Mr. Damrong Pidech, director of Natural Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department (DNP). DNP has a firm policy of the world heritage site protection by supporting weapons and increasing military strength. Absolutely, their earnest support for Thungyai - Huai Khakhaeng WS drove those site-protection missions to be more effective, as well as ensured on-site and out-of-site people the world heritage site shall be saved along their sustainable conservative principle and continually tasks.
