Establishing Thungyai
Central Radio Network Communication Station Construction of the Thungyai Central Radio Network Station (TCRNCS),known as "the Hermit ", was initiated officially on Saturday September 21, 2004 when Mr. Urb Choeng-Sa-Ard, the chief commander of Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary, performed a ritual worship to the Hermit Shrine situated in a nearby location on the Hermit Mount. The preliminary survey of the project started in 2002 by Mr. Nitas Suwan and WFCC staff members, HS7-CEJ and HS7-TKC. After climbing up and performing radio tests on the summits of many possible mountains, this location was selected. With the location chosen, a temporary radio station was built to test the performance of radio signals. The station has been in operation since January 2003. In July 2004 responding to Mr. Urb's request, WFCC staff members allocated funds and members for the construction of TCRNCS as following : Mr. Tawet Utwichai, E20-OTU, WFCC chairman, designed the schematic plan of the radio station. Mr. Tanu Taraket and Mr. Nattapol Nakphan designed the antenna tower structure. Mr. Toedsak Pattarawanee was assigned the management of construction. Mr.Supachai U-Ta-Pao installed the radio instruments. Mr. Amphol Tapanaunnitikul organized and supervised the overall construction project. During the construction, Mr. Amnat Funfue, a worker of Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary, risked his life by climbing up to the vortex of every antennae tower for the antennae and cable installation. Mr. Jitti Sawatsai, a Thungyai ranger, devoted his whole heart to the construction as well. With the labor of Thungyai rangers and workers, including WFCC staff and volunteers along with 390,189 Bht. in funding raised by WFCC, the station was completed on April 16, 2005.
