Introduction

The Central Radio Network Communication Station Construction Project
Commemorative Construction Projects
to Celebrate 30th Anniversary of Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary Establishment

Since WFCC has found the possible location  to construct the central radio network station of Thungyai after a long time search , at the Hermit mount , in year 2003 , and constructed temporary radio station to test its performance ever since . The results  was satisfactory , in fact , the location was one of the ideal location to set up the antenna tower of the central radio network station of Thungyai . The radio signal coverage expanded throughout the wildlife sanctuary  of the area of 600,000 hectares . The farthest radio signal reached Mae-Sod   fire-forest  radio station in the North and the office of protected forest administration area 3 (Ban Pong) in the South , Thong Pa Pum national park in the West and the eastern side of Thungyai Naresuan wildlife sanctuary in the East which covered the area of Huai Kha Khaeng wildlife sanctuary , east side Thungyai Nareusuan wildlife sanctuary , Um Pang wildlife sanctuary , and Khao Laem , Thong Pa Pum as well as Sai Yok national parks which are part of the western complex .

In July , 2004 the new chief in command of the wildlife sanctuary , Mr. Urb Choeng Sa Ard , requested WFCC to support the construction of Thungyai central radio station which he believed and well understood that the radio system was the skeleton and back bone of the wildlife sanctuary and urgently needed nowadays than ever before .

WFCC then urged Mr. Urb to report the construction plan of the central radio station of Thungyai to the department of national park plant and wildlife conservation for the permission . With his cooperation , all need to be done regarding the central radio station construction of Thungyai had finished in August .

In the afternoon of September 28, 2004 WFCC and the chief in command of the wildlife sanctuary accompanied with the rangers took a journey to worshiped the Hermit at the Hermit shrine on the top of the Hermit mount , then walked up to the mountain top of the construction site , then Mr. Urb shoveled the ground at the setting spot of the tower which marked the beginning of the central radio station construction of Thungyai.

The projected and estimated cost of the project is about ß320,000 which need to be supported by WFCC members . The construction time plan is 180 days , estimated total weight of materials and equipment need to be transported to the top of the Hermit mount is 9 tons. The central radio network station is equipped with 24 meter guyed wire tower , 16 stacks of dipole antenna , powered by 2 units of 60 watt base radio transceivers ,  100 watt of the solar cell system shall be installed with 4 units of 12 volts battery and also 1 unit of 500 watt inverter as well as other equipments etc.,
