April 11, 2005 : six wheel truck of Thungyai arrived at WFCC office to help transported office equipments of the central radio network station which to be installed in the last stage of its construction.
most office equipments are larger to carried by WFCC truck, so WFCC asked Mr. Urb, chief in command of Thungyai for support the transportation.
Miss Lukenut, a volunteer was giving a hand packing materials to be transported.
April 13, 2005 : WFCC with volunteers with materials of a truck full were heading to the Hermit Mount continuing its last stage of the central radio network construction which had been runnig for 7 months which was planned to be ended in this mission.
After arriving at Sesavo in the evening, Mr. Chai was busy preparing and checking electronic circuits of radio equipment which to be installed tomorrow while Lukenut was also busy typing documents near by.
After breakfast, in the morning of April 16, 2005 WFCC with volunteers and the rangers were heading to the construction site at the Hermit Mount.
moving office equipments to the radio station was the first task of that morning
there were some concrete works left to be continued in this mission due to the deficit of cement in the last mission. More 1 ton of cement and 2 tons of sand were already transported to the construction site to fulfilled the last portion of concrete work.
Among the transportation of equipments and construction materails from town to the construction site, sand and stone transportation were the most laborous work because of its large quantity and weight. Sand and stone were transported from town far away through the rough , rugged track , down stream and uphill to the mountain, then put it in an appropriate weight of carrier and carried them down hill to the radio station.
This work had taught all participants the value of each every small pieces of sand and stone.
Nevertheless, the final curtain of the mission was coming near. Along the 7 months of the construction project, 15 tons of construction materials were successfully transported from town to this mountain so that to construct the central radio network station of Thungyai . 70% of the material were cement, sand and stone.
There was a story to be recorded that the 4 concrete antenna bases consumed about 5 tons of concrete while the concrete base of the radio building consumed 50% less of concrete.
The front terrace of the radio building was another task of this mission. The knock down production technic was practiced again in the iron structure production of the front terrace for quick installation and assembly.
While the front terrace was being installed below, another team was busy preparing the new 100 watts solar cell installation at the top of the mountain.
The solar cell system installation get quick advance due to the experiences of the installation team. The old 50 watts solar panel which first installed at the previous year for the temporary radio station was disassembled and replaced with the new one.
After an hour in that morning, the solar pole with the installed solar panel was ready to be moved to the prepared hole for its standing.
Due to oil price crisis around the world, solar cell industry should be promoted as another alternative of substitued source energy.
electric wire no.4 was laid and inserted into the electric tube then buried underground to connect the solar panels at the top of the mount to the solar chargers unit that installed in the radio building below.
Mr. Pranuch, WFCC member was digging earth, making line for the electric wire to be buried so that to save the electric wire from the natural fire in the dry season.
Another WFCC electrician was arranging the electric wires both from the solar panels and inside the radio building.
Mr. Chai was designing the internal wiring inside the radio building. As the radio station was equipped with many electrical equipments, the electric wire planning was needed for safety and smooth operation of the radio station.
the solar charger unit was installed at the inside wall of the radio building, and when Mr. Un connect the main electric wire to the solar panels Mr. Chai then, connect the main wire to the solar charger unit and the solar system started to operate.
The first DC fluorescent light was installed under the roof inside the radio building as well as the second one which was installed under the radio building at the cooking area and the third one in the toilet under the rear terrace of the building.
When lunch time came, we gathered around sitting on the front terrace which completely installed in the morning. This meal might be one of the most relaxed meal along the 7 months of the central radio station construction project because everybody got their seats.
In the late evening, Mr. Un stopped the first day work. During the way back to Sesavo we stopped the truck for a while enjoying the beautiful natural view of Sesavo field which turned out green everywhere due to the young grass was growing.
The area of the grass field is 80,000 acres which is the biggest grass field of the country. The big field is a unique natural characteristic of this wildlife sanctuary so that the name of the wildlife sanctuary is named after it.
