Ceremony of Construction Projects of March 3, 2006, WFCC with cooperation of Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary performed a handover ceremony of construction projects of The Radio Network Communication System, Solar Cell System and The Central Radio Network Communication Station of Thungyai which already completed after their 5 years construction since 2001. During preparation, Mr. Urb Cheong Sa-ard informed that some high ranking executive officers from the Department of National park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) would honorably be chairman of the ceremony. WFCC members and volunteers cooperated with Mr. Pongpan Unghemana, the assistant chief of Thungyai, for preparation. The first team of WFCC, loaded with equipments & food supply with necessary utilities, reached the worksite to set up since March 1st. Mr. David from Iowa who oversea travel to join the ceremony , firstly traveled north to visit important conservative associations, then visited Mr. Saksit Simchareon and Mr. Chatchaval Pisdamkham at Khao Nang Rum Wildlife Research Station and Huai Khakhaeng wildlife Sanctuary. After that, Mr. David traveled south with Mr. Surin to participate The Maintenance of the Marine Wildlife Checkpoint , in the evening of February 28th Mr. David and Mr. Surin and some of WFCC members got on a ferry headed west across Srinakharin Dam (The biggest dam of Thailand) to Thungyai and enjoyed another memorable sunset scene on that ferry. With the complement of chief in command of Srinakharin dam, WFCC group spent a night at the best resident of National Park of Srinakharin Dam that night, the weather was quite cool.
In the morning of March 1st, 2006. Some of WFCC officers arrived the head office of Thungyai by the time as of Mr. David and the other WFCC team. We reloaded all provisions as WFCC truck was damaged after its hard burdens for more than a year. After repaired, we continued to Sesawo wildlife station where some part was settled by Thungyai officers. We arrived in the evening that day just in time to enjoyed another beautiful sunset scene at Sesawo grass fileld.
The morning of March 2nd was when national flag was first raised upon Sesawo wildlife unit after the completion of its construction. Then, the station signage was decorated by a yellow King flag and national flag as to celebrate the 60 years accession to the throne of HM. the King. After that, some of us survey for helicopter apron area upon Sesawo grass field which was backward uphill from Sesawo wildlife protection station. Along the way, the clue of bullets of the poachers on tree still remains. The great story of the poaching at Thungyai started here some 30 years ago when military helicopter crashed incident in Nakornpathom and carcasses spread over the crash area which traced to its poaching in Thungyai Naresuan. The crash was their compensation to the innocent wildlife of Thungyai Naresuan WS, as Thungyai rangers vowed to the respectful Hermit of Thungyai to protect Thungyai and gave such extreme penalty to anyone who try to destroy.
After breakfast of the following day, WFCC members and volunteers separated for their responsibility following preparation meeting on the night before. It was just the end of natural fire season, so we can see ashes and burn-but-alive cycads stand still everywhere. Even quite high temperature, especially on the hill top, all staffs including Mr. David worked very hard for temporary exhibition camp set up until sunset.
After dinner, all staffs again joined the meeting for the coming ceremony performing date of the next day before separate to rest. At Sesawo service house which WFCC constructed as to celebrate 30th Anniversary of Thungyai WS establishment, only Pranuch and Lukenut stayed late busying on document preparation for the following day's presentation while Mr. David experienced his sleep in traditional Karean style for the first time in his life at Sesawo.
