Handover Ceremony of Construction Projects of
The Radio Network Communication System , Solar Cell System
and The Central Radio Network Communication Station of Thungyai
March 3, 2006

It was about 10 am of March 3rd. There was a roaring of helicopters gradually louder and louder from the far away valley.  WFCC trucks was sent to pick up DNP's officers to Hermit hill after the 2 helicopters landed at specific positions. Before went up to the hill top, the  truck stopped for officers to paid respect to the Hermit of Thungyai.

When honorable officers leaded by Mr. Chaval Talhikorn, the assistant cheif of DNP reached the worksite, Mr. Urb Cheongsa-ard welcomed all and introduced Mr. Tewet Uttawichai, WFCC chairman, and Mr. David, WFCC staff from Iowa. After paid respect to Buddha and HM. the King, Mr. Urb read out the report to the chairman, and then took turn to Mr. Tawatchai (WFCC representative) to report the handover of the construction projects of The Radio Network Communication System, Solar Cell System and The Central Radio Network Station, together with slide presentation.

In front of Thungyai central radion station signage, Mr. David, WFCC representative, handed over the three projects to Dr. Chaval Talhikorn and cut ribbon together with him. After that, Mr. Chaval with his followers visit the Hermit Hill Central Radio Network Communication Station which has both strong  structural and systematic design of communication system to perform as one of the most strongest and effective radio center for forest-preservative throughout the western complex forest.

After they returned uphill, other necessary provisions donated by WFCC were handed over. The provisions are such as food and medical supplies, radio transceiver units, in order to enhance Thungyai ranger's principle of forest & wildlife protection as well as WFCC had done for other protected forest sites over the western complex forest .

Then, Mr. Chaval the ceremonial chairman and as representative of DNP gave a speech to thank WFCC that had driven the three projects to their completion, and then expressed his ideal of cooperative management through conservative task for sustainable output. Then, he described about the important of communication through patrol duty on site, supported by his own experience when he stated as a chief of a wildlife sanctuary. He said ".....Among emergency crisis, a radio communication is more important than a gun to save ranger's life...."

When Dr. Chaval finished his speech, the others visited exhibition that displayed WFCC historical working procedure of the three projects started from December 24, 2006 which was the day after the Hermit of Thungyai inauguration ceremony. Then, they relaxed and had easy talk. At nearly noon time before they traveled back, WFCC gave them each a current calendar in wooden frame. The calendar shows the picture of the Great King Naresuan statue in the project of King Naresuan the Maharaja's Shrine Construction at Thungyai Naresuian to mark 400 year memorial of the Great Black King  including the photos of the Commemorative Construction Projects to Celebrate 30th Anniversary of Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary Establishment which WFCC completed the construction and already handed over to Thungyai Naresuan WS.

Not only Thungyai officers joined the handover ceremony but also some other from neighbor authorities came to help setting up the ceremony, gave security, including drink and food service throughout the ceremony. For example; officers from Khaolaem National Park, Lamklong-ngu National Park, Phachee River WS and Salakphra WS.

After the two helicopters took off, the remain staffs renovated the area. The temporary ceremonial and exhibition tent was disassembling. The site was cleaned up and all equipments were moved downhill. Only after 2 hours, the hermit hill returned to its original condition as if nothing even occurred there before. However, the event on the date March 3, 2006 would be marked into all memorial, both DNP officers and organizers from several sections. And that will recall all of us to all difficulties we had struggled for sustainable and effective management of conservation task, that made at the cost of our strong philosophical intention and endeavor.
