December 3 , 2004 , 4 pm. arrived at Kroeng Kravia checkpoint of Khao Lam National park , and picked up the antenna we dropped a week ago .
5.30 pm. arrived at Koeng Sada wildlife checkpoint and met Mr. Berm who we made appointment with as well as other 2 rangers . After a short meeting of the antenna replacement procedure in that evening then we had dinner and went to bed . The weather was cool .
December 4 , 2004 7 am. A view of the bridge over the Rantee river from Koeng Sada wildlife checkpoint .
Mr. Berm and Mr. Chet was preparing the antenna .
After we finished preparing the new antenna Mr. Berm climbed up to the top of the antenna tower and took down the old antenna , lamda 5/8 .
The new antenna , Di Pole , 4 stacks , was lifted up by a pulley and rope to the top of the tower , then Mr. Berm put it in its place .
The antenna direction was set to the North East where the central radio network station located .
After the new antenna was installed , then the rangers tested the performance of the new antenna . Near by wlidlife checkpoint radio stations continuously reported that the audio was clear , excellent radio transmission . During the test , the central radio network station of Thungyai was coming in , repoted that the radio transmission was very clear , excellent .
The mission was to improved the radio transmission of this wildlife checkpoint radio station to get through the central network radio station so that the outer ring radio network could link with the inner ring radio network and build up the complete radio network sysytem of the wildlife sanctuary . Koeng Sada wildlife checkpoint radio station was the only radio station which located in a good geographic location where the radio trasmission could go through the central radion network station .
The mission was completed , time to say good bye . Just before we left the wildlife checkoint , we saw a sign at the exit written ... every sweat for nature and forest ... and also our lives .
