June 20, 2003: In the
middle of monsoon, WFCC headed to
Salawa
wildlife protection station with its member,
volunteers and friends, Mr. Tim from The Family. This
mission is to install radio communication system at
Salawa, one of the most difficult to access station of
Thungyai especially in rainy season like this. The journey was just another unforgettable trip to everybody whereas obstacles were spread over along the whole track. Mr. Tim as well as other staffs had to put a lot of effort pushing the truck uphill through the slippery mud and wash-board track. The most critical obstacles were trying to get the truck crossing the muddy streams that high as the tires. Finally, after 8 hours of the laborious driving, Mr. Ko, WFCC driver, successfully made it. The next morning the radio system installation got start and completed in the afternoon. After the test, when all radio equipments functioned properly and Salawa radio station reached near by radio station of Thungyai, the mission was completed. Salawa radio station was the latest radio station joined in Thungyai radio network communication system.
