Radio System Renovation at
Sanepong wildlife protection station



 

                       April 14, 2005 : WFCC fixed and improved radio system of Sanepong wildlife protection station which was out of order and could not reached other radio stations of other wildlife protection stations near by especially Koeng Sada radio station , the main station of outer radio network ring , so that all  daily reports that need to be sent to Thungyai head quarter was cut off.

                       When WFCC was reported about the problem , then set a technician team and started off to Sanepong wildlife protection station on the afternoon of April 13, 2005 and arrived at 8.30 pm. on the same day.  In the next morning of April 14, 2005 after the meeting with Mr. Toon , head of rangers of Sanepong during the morning coffee. Then we concluded that the radio failure was because of the new antenna replacement at Sanepong radio station that changed its antenna height and direction since the last radio system improvement last month. So we planned to adjust Sanepong radio antenna to its new most appropriate direction , with the help of map and compass we quickly located the new antenna direction for Sanepong.

                       After 35 minutes, the antenna holder was successfully moved to the appropriate side so that the antenna was easily adjusted to its new direction. And when Mr. Berm climbed down from the antenna tower , Mr. Ling, the ranger, powered up the radio and performed the test. The result was as expected, the radio system was back to its order again.

                       After breakfast, before WFCC headed to the wildlife sanctuary to continued its mission on the final stage of the central radio network station construction, 500 plastic bags were handed to Mr. Toon which to be free distributed to tourists as to arouse nature awareness among visitors to help keep Thungyai clean according to WFCC garbage minimization campaign which started since 2003.
