February 11, 2006, WFCC members and volunteers traveled to the head office of Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary to improve its radio communication system by joining Thungyai radio network communication system. Mr. Tanabodi Urarak (Keng), together with Mr. Amnart Funfua (Berm) climbed up a 60 meters radio post to bring down its antenna and cables for inspection. All the cables damaged with sediment covered connector tips. Moreover, they found an 8 stacks folded dipole damaged which had caused the whole system of radio communication at the head office out of order. To support the mission, Mr. Chalorng Champa-ngern sent 12 officers to the worksite that helped the task ran effectively until the reconstruct of antenna and cable done when the evening came. The damaged dipole antenna was planned to be repaired and reinstalled with a new cable during the next mission, whereas the yagi antenna was planned to be relocated to the Hermit Hill, central radio network communication station. During the mission, we were reported by the performing electric technician that installation process of the existing guywire radio tower was under standard; its sling did not catch by tower cap’s point, the two top portions connected with no joint, and wrong screwed on the junction of tower cap and antenna, and that is all extremely harm to the climbing electric technicians or any passerby.
