According to WFCC continuous cooperation with Khao Namg Rum (KNR) Wildlife research Station toward West Thungyai Wildlife Survey Project since the early of year 2005, WFCC has learnt about method and several techniques of tiger research of KNR Research Station at Huai Khakhaeng Wildlife Sanctuary. At the same time, WFCC learnt that many research equipments of the station was out of repair, and also acknowledged that some necessary equipment were still shortage.
In 2005, WFCC therefore initiated a project of Tiger Research Equipment Repair for Khao Nang Rum Wildlife Research Station. The first support was donation of 2 operating computers which purposed to support wildlife database compilation and arrangement. Apart from computers donation, WFCC repaired a radio collar, also designed and produced its receiver antenna which was now under performance inspection. As WFCC was informed that the radio collars they use in tiger research project are very expensive and need to import from oversea that takes very long time for its delivery, WFCC then decided to design electronic circuit to produce a new one on our own, purposely to reduce cost and support the research operation.
The Tiger Research Equipment Repair Project also includes future support of computer network system equipment and internet connection equipment as to facilitate researchers in KNR Wildlife Research Station. Several missions referred required a large amount of fund that makes our target seems so far. However, by our cooperation, dedication and hard effort; the project would be driven to its aim following philosophy of a group of people who dream for sustainable wildlife preservation in Thailand.
