It is true that we had to think wiser not only try harder as uncle Charles Dukes form US noted to WFCC when he donated a used Garmin 12XL GPS and WFCC handed it to Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary which was the first Thungyai GPS. To protect and conserve this vast forest we need to learn and know all its data , this mission is almost impossible without the help of GPS which tells the exact spot of where we are in the map . This high technology equipment is a valuable tool which will help rangers to survey and patrol throughout the wildlife sanctuary , data collected will be gathered and stored then study and processed , which one day in the near future through the collaborate project of Thungyai and WFCC , data collected will build up GIS of the wildlife sanctuary . Wildlife research division is also need the use of GPS as well as the area protection division , hence , WFCC has started to supply GPS to Thungyai since the first unit in year 2000 up to the fifth unit in year 2004 and more should come in the future .
