During August 26-31, 2005, WFCC members, followed by volunteers and Maharaja officers continued the improvement of Maharaja Wildlife Station project which was on going. For this time operation, we located electricity main from Solar House to distribute electricity to other buildings, also provide maintenance for the two Maharaja Wildlife Station offices. Mr. Erb Choengsa-ard, the Chief in Command of Thungyai Naresuan sent 4 officers to support the project and discussed with Mr. Tanabodee Urarak (Keang) about electricity main connection, security, including maintenance. The electricity main will be protected inside conduit and buried underground, instead of lay hanging along the electricity post which often shot circuit due to the touch of tree leaves.
Although the two offices have been constructed for ages, they still in good condition. The interior walls repainted by 3 female volunteers and Mr. Tawat Santisiri, the Assistant Chief in Command of Thungyai Naresuan, whereas the exterior surface operated by other male staffs. The maintenance work of the two offices is expected to be complete by September.
Refer to the right photo above; Mr. Aun was replacing the gypsum ceiling which was damaged by rain water leakage. Two pieces of frosty ceilings and 4 pieces of frosty roof tiles were placed to support sunshine through inside. The solar cell system is now done progressively. And after the solar house construction finished and electricity main is completely installed, the other support equipments will be connected, and, expectedly to be effective within October.
While the main task is in process, some of WFCC officers transported a tank of 2,000 liter capacity to support the Radio Network Station at Hermit Hill where still require another 2 tanks to store at least 10,000 liters for after rainy season usage.
Another problem we all faced in the same condition was the threat of many mosquitoes and other blood-eating insects that living everywhere. Therefore, we all unexceptionally gain several botches spread around the body as a souvenir from Thungyai Naresuan.
