Solar cell system construction and
Maharaja station improvement project
Page 4
After deep sleep the night before, we woke up lively in the morning of 13rd August 2006. A nice breakfast already prepared by Koh who took over responsibility on cooking throughout the mission because WFCC master of kitchen did not came to join the mission.
The first task of that morning was to relocate generator which had stated behind Maharaja's canteen for years to standby at the solar cell station for more convenience on operating and maintenance, also to support energy to inverter of solar cell system in case of overload using demand.
By the way, Mr. Pranuch was then preparing for wildlife patrol regarding West Thungyai Wildlife Track Survey Project as during the progressive meeting on the beginning of August 2006 when Mr. Saksit Simchareon had asked to extend target area of West Thungyai Tiger Research Project along southern range of the previous map. Before started walking, he had discussed with Ja-yeesib; the project companion, about the track and current site condition.
When everyone were ready, the mission again begun. Mr. Portlert Laorsuwan the senior expert from Leonics Co., Ltd. firstly inspect durable of the solar panel support structure which we had installed the night before. As the result, he admired with its strength and well-construct.
Then, we transport all solar panels to the worksite. Aun unwrapped each one carefully under closely control by Mr. Pornlert.
When the first panel stated properly to its position, some other staffs helped seizing it against the supporting structure where as another screwed bolts onto each specific positions Koh previously provided by the instruction of Mr. Pornlert since the pre-construction stage. After the first panel was successfully installed, then was fellowing the next. Some staffs unwrapped and placed while the another were tightening bolts. The process grew very fast until the final one was neatly installed. It was Mr. Aun's great honor when Mr. Pornlert gave a strong admiration to his installation plan that created a very strong structure and each panel were all in its certain position without any mistake cause to removed or reinstalled. Moreover, the total installation process was in standard.
Although the installation process took shorter time than we estimated, wiring and system connection from all solar cell panels to terminal box were much more complicated than our expectation. After Mr. Pornlert positioned the location of terminal box at western of solar panel where closet to the solar house. Tao the technician (Mr. Anuwat Jaisue) calculated the distance and punched holes on the piping stand at specific position in order to install the terminal box which all electric cables would be gathered in. As there was not yet electricity supply available, Mr. Keng again connected converter to WFCC truck's battery to support his work on electrical tools.
While solar cell cabling process was running, there inside solar house was another team installing electrical system as well as another team outside started digging holes for fencing task. It was a congested but impressive atmosphere of altogether up to 30 staffs marching around the solar panels all that day.
