Phase #6/2

The morning of 14th August 2006 after breakfast while the others were separating to pack their belongings; prepared to travel back to town, some of Thungyai officers who came to join the mission leaded by Mr. Tan the head of Maekasa wildlife station traveled up north to reinforce forest patrol mission for wildlife protection and suppress wildlife poachers. Mr. Jitti, Supakit, and Aun with WFCC truck carried them as far as just reached Dongwee stream because its level increased that the truck could not go across. So, they carried each one's backpack across the stream and continued on foot until reached Sesawo wildlife station; the destination, by that afternoon.

Before Mr. Pornlert and his followers separated to travel back, WFCC representative thanks to his kind support throughout the mission. On that chance, they donated Baht 4,000 to support WFCC project of solar cell system installation. WFCC planned to use the budget to purchase 10 Amp battery chargers for the solar cell system and radio communication nearby, including some necessary equipment following the final stage plan of the project.

As usual, visitors who travel to Thungyai during rainy season would have to face with several difficulties along the way which may totally changed in just over a night. They might have to go across a huge natural fallen tree, a dangerous big hole on road, the increasing stream level caused by heavy rain and storm, etc. And, all those trouble may effected delay or unpredictable time of arrival. On a tree or beside the road near by a high-level stream or river, we may found a bamboo stick at the size fit to the filter tube of Thungyai's truck's. The bamboo stick shall be adopt for use instead of an expensive car snorkel. During the time of usage, its tip needs to be carried up and beware of not to be drawn into the water, otherwise it would take a lot of time to heal the dropped engine. However, it is very useful for such situations in a deep forest.

The photos of a tiger's footprint and of a Kalij Pheasant were taken by Mr. Pornlert during the way back. They clearly states wildlife abundant of Thungyai Naresuan that; among over million Rais of Thungyai Naresuan, we are still able to find a clue of wildlife easily even in a very limited space or not such an open area.

Several shots of butterflies, insects, wild flowers were taken, as well as of a colorful spider. It was such a great happiness of a visitor whose once has a chance to return to nature and keep away from all trouble in his daily life.

The major objective of Solar cell system Installation Project is to supply necessary basic structure of permanent energy resource to assure and support other development that are; wildlife protection and poaching suppression mission, and WS site management, including wildlife data collection and wildlife research progression which may call nature awareness of people. Moreover, it might be a key to define the direction of sustainable wildlife and forest reservation in the future.
