Solar cell system installation at
Tipupong wildlife protection station

July 22, 2005, WFCC has installed solar cell system for Tipupong Wildlife Protection Station, according to the Solar Cell System Installation Project which has been continuously proceed since December 2001. Solar Cell System is an objective of power consumption which is more effective, also environment-friendly since it can provide enough energy without oil consumption. The solar cell system at Tipupong, as well as other wildlife checkpoint, will effectively  relief difficulties of oil expense and transportation; especially during current oil crisis.

WFCC departed from WFCC office at noon time of July 21, 2005 and decided to stay completely overnight at Tiku Wildlife Protection Station since we realize the difficulties of transportation during rainy season we are going to face on the next day. However, we finally reach Tipupong without any damage of important solar cell equipment.

Although rain scatter all that day, the installation was finally completed by that noontime because of true participation between Tipupong Officers and WFCC members. After the final test of power circuit connection, we enjoyed lunch time at 2 pm.

This solar cell system is the third model we had changed to be firstly used at Tipupong. The first model is in rectangle shape, firstly installed in Maekasa Wildlife Protection Station on 2001. The second is in square shape, installed at the Central Radio Network Station. The third model is also in square shape, but it's quality has been developed to be highly effective event in poor circumstance.

Tipupong Wildlife Protection Station is located on the foot of Dika Mount. Also, it is the buffer Station of Southern Thungyai Naresuan, close to a number of tribal village which continuously requires forest area for their crop field. Many wildlife smugglings found in this area, and Tipupong officers have to patrol and protect area in the same time. After the installation completed, the communication system power energy is mainly required will be more effective. Hopefully, the solar cell system will not only support internal communication of wildlife protection missions, also it will empower the faith and goodwill of Tipupong officers on preserving the wildlife area of Thungyai Naresuan, as well as other wildlife protection station we previously provided.
